It's Halloween and we haven't carved our pumpkins yet...

but Peyton and I did make our sugar cookies. Have fun trick- or- treating.

Wallpaper Love... Part Deux

I've really been putting off decisions in this house... but I'm back in the game now!

I narrowed down the Powder Room wallpaper to these five beauties. I wanted to throw a *hissy fit* when Imperial Trellis didn't work with the existing subway tile wainscoting. Kidding. (The white color was a little too ivory-ish.) I really do love that pattern, don't you? Moving on...

I'm really liking the middle one. I think it's fun with the hexagon tile floor. What's your vote?

These pictures aren't my best work because the room is so tiny cozy. I mean, I was standing in the tub when I took these pictures. It was that, or take the picture while hanging off the crown molding.

Here's a better look at our pick:
Summer Palace Fret, Schumacher
I'm still secretly thinking about these two:
Maybe for the back of the basement book shelves?

Shop SCAD

I have visited my alma mater, Savannah College of Art an Design, a few times since I've graduated. Such a beautiful place, full of history and quirkiness... and college memories. They recently opened a shop where students sell their crafts and art work. It's such a fun idea and maybe it could help a little with their college loans... and I can shop there since I'm debt- free to SCAD. (I"m not taking any credit for that one...thanks mom and dad!)

Color Trends

Aren't you loving these color trends for Fall and Winter? My Dining Room wall color is pretty close to quarry, and it's the most perfect earthy- blue- gray shade.

Orchid hush would be a fun ceiling color, paired with taupe walls, and crisp white crown molding.

I love the look of a colorful ceiling... especially the haint blue porch ceilings of southern homes, so charming. Haint Blue comes from the low country of South Carolina and Georgia. They painted their homes this shade of blue to keep the bad spirits away... and maybe the gross bugs "palmetto bugs" too.

Sears Kit House

I have a thing for old houses, not really a secret at this point. My hubby and I were trying to figure out if we have a Sears kit house or not.  Judging by this handy guideline, we don't have a kit house, more like a custom 1915 craftsman. We do have most of the original details like the built-ins, door hardware, oak trim, and even the door bell... but not the original steam heat radiators, which is a good thing!

I'm pretty sure we paid a little more than $982.00 though.
Can you imagine??? That's bananas.
