Bee mine...on Etsy

I will *forever* be in love with Etsy. Seriously, an hour could fly by and you are still finding new arty things, right? My Bee Composite was featured on an Etsy treasury, Bee mine and on a great design blog, Design Thoughts.

Roller shade experiment- part one

Our guest room needs a few more finishing touches, mainly an upgrade from run-of-the-mill roller shades. We can do *way* better than plain, white shades. After an insane amount of time searching online for affordable roller shades with a modern print (turns out you can only have one or the other!) I decided making my own would be the best option. Here are the finalists...my favorite is the fresh celadon lattice pattern.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I thought I would share a few of my favorite green tiles for St Patrick's Day...enjoy! I've been obsessed with the Pratt and Larson BAS Relief 1x1 tiles (top left corner) for about 8 years now... might be just perfect for my fireplace.  You can choose your glazes and create a custom blend...circle or square tiles is the real question.

Before and After- our guest room

Is there anything better than before and after photos? My daughter, Peyton insisted on being in all of our final walk- thru photos so this will be like a Where's Waldo book. We made a last minute decision  to refinished our floors before moving in. What do you think? Not bad for wood floors from 1910.
My husband made this log bed while in college in Montana. The rest of our house is more clean lined traditional, but we couldn't resist a cozy, cottage style guest bedroom.

I was searching for a shadow box to display my husband's antique fishing lures and found this beauty. I love all the crackled layers of paint and it matches our favorite nightstand that we scouted out up north in Suttons Bay. I added a twig handle and it was a perfectly customized Christmas present.
