F*I*V*E

My sweet little Peyton is 5 today. She wanted tacos for dinner, a pinata, and a headband/sombrero. Cute.
{Yes, she picked out her outfit *all by herself.* Sigh.}

{Random- those flags on the cake look like teeth since they right below the handles on my buffet!}

Peyton wrote her name in frosting. I was pretty impressed... because it looks pretty good and because I could give up a *little* control over something creative.

Five more reasons to love Pinterest: {as if we needed more reasons!}

Don't forget-  only one more day to enter the fabulous giveaway from Paper Llamas.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Beginning in the Living Room

I have a new client that digs my design ideas, likes fun colors and patterns, and loves to hunt for a great deal. Sounds like a perfect client, right? The client is my sister and she just moved right nearby. So fun!

Anyway, here is the beginning of her Living Room design. We scored *huge* at the Pottery Barn/ West Elm outlet so now we just need to pick fabric and art complete the room.... to be continued.

These chairs are gorgeous too. I have a *thing* for chairs.

She might not dig the turquoise/ teal combo {we'll see} so we could go with orange instead.
Grey-orange-earthy green could be beautiful too.

Color Trends... and a giveaway!

So the color of the year is Tangerine Tango. Kinda fun in small doses, right?
Tonight I saw a super-masculine-body-builder kind of guy at the gym in Tangerine Tango running shoes. I really never saw *that* trend coming, haha.

I think I'm more of a driftwood, starfish, and cockatoo color scheme kind of girl. How about you?

Love, love, love bright pinks and oranges paired with light, neutral walls.

This takes the Chevron trend to a whole new level.

This wall color is *perfect* with the dark wood floors and trim.

 I have a pretty *amazing* giveaway in the works... there will be 2 winners... more on that in a few days.

Day Five

This decluttering  journey has been great so far. I know, it's only day 5. I think it cleared space in my head for craftiness, now that I don't feel overwhelmed right when I walk in the door.
So....

I *finally* reupholstered Peyton's bench with leftover fabric from my roller shades.

I made *progress* on my kitchy 960's paint-by-number. The original paints in the kit dried up so I mix each color to match. This has taken a while...

Then I made little labels for Peyton's drawers in her closet. I cut our the frames from scrapbooking paper and attached them to each handle with ornament hooks... because I have like 1,000 of those things.

Next up:
A fun framed collage in the office. I really love seeing all the different collages out there. Time for one in our house.
