Sans sewing machine

This *really* makes me wish that I knew how to knit or crochet... or what ever it's called. I know it takes patience though, so that's not happening.

I'm loving these no- sew pillows. They could be switched out so easily. Remember my no-sew roller shades? I wonder what else could be tackled *sans* sewing machine.

I would love to try these no-sew roman shades from Casa Sugar.  I might need a little caffiene and a pep talk first... it looks like an *advanced *no-sew project.

Enjoy your weekend!

It's Summer

Happy Summer! It's finally here... although it's felt like summer for a while now.
{Um, it was 100 degrees yesterday.}

We already started our summer out with a trip up north. Fresh garden greens, olive bread, and hanging out at the beach as much as possible.

A fresh, organic salad with olive bread. Yum.

Fishtown in Leland.

This place is the home of some fabulous pretzel bread.

Container Gardens

My new garden takes up most of my free time, so I decided to make all of our containers maintenance free this year. I took some tips from this article so that my plants will come back each spring. You could add some perenials too, but I like just simple greens.

A few pretty containers I spotted up north.

Here are the containers I have in the yard so far:

creeping jenny * red dragon grass * potato vine

frog belly:

chives, tarragon, and thyme... we already cut some for dinner last night.

more creeping jenny: (this one is in a trash picked planter!)

boxwoods
(they have to be stored in the garage all winter and watered whenever it's above freezing)
