The couch project continues...

We found this *amazing* American Empire couch a few weeks ago and immediately saw the potential. It needed a little help, and a bit of a modern-twist too.

We had all those old layers stripped off... and lucky for us, there was Mahogany hiding underneath.

We chose the top stain. It isn't too dark so you still see the wood grain.. and it is a little less red too.

Here is where we are this week:
That might make it sound like I am involved in all this work and I am not. Not one bit...
{shout out to Mary Beth's Furniture in Rochester, MI.}

I can't wait for the couch to be done... and in my Living Room... and nowhere near my six year old.
Not sure how that is going to work yet.

Momarazzi strikes again

We just got back from a trip to Disney World and it is the most magical place and yes, I took 400+ photos. {Momarazzi!} My daughter's favorite ride was Thunder Mountain and when she wanted to ride it again she would say,"can we go on the ride that almost makes you pee your pants?" She had zero interest in meeting the characters. True story.

My husband and I are in the tile and stone business so it just wouldn't be right if I didn't notice the *amazing* tile work.

magical, right?

P.S. I totally recommend a DIY count down for your kids before a vacation. MY daughter was so excited to cross it off every night.
