Goodbye Mercantile, hello chandelier

We biked to the farmers market on Saturday and passed by our favorite store,
Fourth Street Mercantile Co. and saw that they are closing! It is *such* a great store, and one of the only local places that has a great selection of new and retro style home goods. They will be missed.

Our (less than) happy camper just *loves* to shop!

On the upside, we picked up a few fantastic things for our house. I like to find unique things and figure out what to do with them later. It makes a room a little less matchy- matchy and gives it more of a lived in, natural feel.

Our latest and greatest finds:
This coat rack will be perfect for guests once I figure out where to hang it.

The shoe mirror fills the small space between our closets.

... and my husband made a light fixture! He picked up a cheap chandelier and some curly sticks, headed out to the garage...

... and created this chandelier for our dining room.
Not bad, especially for $80. I think it looks great with our wall color and oak trim.
