Pumpkin Time

We had a laid back kind of weekend. No real plans. Aren't those so nice once in a while?
Well, one plan. We always go to the Stonewall Pumpkin Festival at a nearby farm. Everybody carves a pumpkin and comes back later that night too see the glowing display.

Loving the birds.

We couldn't pass up this chevron pattern gourd. Too cute.

I also can't resist a perfect pumpkin stack. Who can?

We fit in a fall bike ride and hung out with the ducks for a bit. It was so warm today. You have to soak it all up before winter, right?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello Fall

I'm getting ready for fall like this little guy. I've been canning marinara sauce...

and yesterday I picked all of the basil left in the garden and made some pesto to enjoy all winter long. This presto pesto recipe is perfect because you can freeze it in small portions. I already defrosted one and made pasta and it tastes just as fresh as before it was frozen.
It's an 8 minute dinner on a week day. Fast, delicious, and healthy!

* {I left out the cheese since I'm a vegan, and it still tastes amazing}*

In other news... we are in the middle of taking apart our bedroom closets because... well, the pictures will tell you why.

They aren't large closets but I think they could be more efficient and *definitely*
 prettier. Room for improvement, right?!

I'll post the after pictures when we are done in a week or so. We plan drywalling, tiling the floor and finding some cool lighting. (cooler than that fluorescence lighting?! Haha)

Happy Fall Y'all

It's really feeling like Fall around here. Why not tackle a few Fall-ish DIY projects to freshen up a room a little? I'm always collecting rocks and branches for inspiration...it's a little strange. I guess some people relax on the beach and some people go rock hunting.

How fun is the branch coat rack from Pinterest? Love.

This is a more modern version of my twig chandelier
I'm always drawn to rooms with white walls and rustic details. Maybe for my next house?
Just kidding... kinda.
